Future Tenses
Four Ways to Talk About Tomorrow
Will, going to, present continuous, and present simple can all express the future — but each implies a different level of certainty or planning.
Future Forms
Choosing the Right Future Form

Will
Spontaneous decision: "I'll help you." Prediction: "It will rain." Promise: "I will call you."

Going to
Plan/intention: "I'm going to study medicine." Prediction with evidence: "Look! It's going to rain."

Present Continuous
Arranged future: "I'm meeting Sarah at 3pm."

Present Simple
Scheduled/timetabled: "The train leaves at 10am."
Two More Future Forms
- Future Perfect (will have + PP): "By 2027, she will have graduated."
- Future Continuous (will be + V-ing): "This time tomorrow I will be flying."
