Small Words, Big Mistakes
At, in, on, for, since — prepositions cause more errors than almost any other part of English grammar, precisely because their logic doesn't translate directly from other languages.
Time Prepositions
AT, IN, ON

AT — specific time
at 9 o'clock / at noon / at night

IN — months, years, seasons, parts of day
in January / in 2026 / in the morning

ON — days, specific dates
on Monday / on 15th January

FOR vs SINCE
FOR + period: for 3 years. SINCE + point: since 2020.
UNTIL vs BY
- UNTIL = action continues up to: "Wait until Friday."
- BY = deadline: "Finish by Friday."

Common Errors
✗ She is good in English. → ✓ She is good AT English.
✗ He arrived to Lahore. → ✓ He arrived IN Lahore.
✗ I am waiting since 3 hours. → ✓ I have been waiting FOR 3 hours.
