Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 6 October 2026
Learning material is no use to someone who cannot reach it. This page says honestly where the site stands, including what is not finished.
1. What we aim for
We work towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. We have not been independently audited against it, so we describe this as what we aim for rather than a claim to have met it.
2. What works today
- Pages reflow to any screen width, down to small phones, without sideways scrolling.
- Text can be selected, copied and printed, including whole lessons.
- Headings follow a real order, so a screen reader can move through a lesson by structure.
- Links and buttons show a clear outline when reached with the keyboard.
- Animation is switched off automatically for anyone whose system asks for reduced motion.
- Nothing is conveyed by colour alone in lesson material.
3. Known limitations
These are real and we would rather say so than let you discover them:
- Some older lesson diagrams and screenshots still lack descriptive alternative text.
- A few interactive tools — the code runner and some games — are difficult or impossible to use with a keyboard alone.
- Some third-party embeds and advertising are outside our control and may not meet the same standard.
- Colour contrast on a small number of older pages has not yet been brought up to AA.
4. If something blocks you
Tell us what you were trying to do and what got in the way, through our contact page or email info@bitwithbite.com. We will reply within 5 working days, and if a fix will take longer we will offer the material another way in the meantime — a plain-text version, a PDF, or by email.
5. How this page is kept honest
We review this statement when the site changes substantially, and at least once a year. The date at the top is the last real review, not an automatic stamp.
