Lesson 5 — Mitosis Cheat Sheet

Biology
In one line: PMAT — Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, Telophase — produces 2 identical diploid daughter cells for growth and repair.

The Four Phases

1Prophase. Chromatin condenses, spindle forms, nuclear envelope breaks down.
2Metaphase. Chromosomes align at the metaphase plate.
3Anaphase. Sister chromatids separate, pulled to poles.
4Telophase + Cytokinesis. Nuclear envelopes reform; cell divides into 2 identical cells.
