🏆 Phase 4 · Advanced Projects
🏅 FINAL LESSON
MODULE 16
Final Showcase
Your progress in Phase 4100%
🎉 The final lesson! You've built games, animations, stories and interactive projects. Now it's time to polish your best game, publish it to Scratch, and share it with friends, family, and the 100 million Scratch community!
Section 1
Polish Before You Publish
A polished game feels smooth and complete. Run through this checklist before sharing your game with anyone!
🎬
Start ScreenA backdrop before the game begins — show the title, instructions, and "Press Space to Start"
🏁
Game Over ScreenA clear ending — show "Game Over" or "You Win!" with the final score
🔊
Sound EffectsAt least 3 sounds: a start sound, a success sound (coin/pop), a fail sound (ouch/buzzer)
🎵
Background MusicLoop a fun background track. Use the Scratch music library or record your own!
🐢
Test All Edge CasesWhat happens if the player immediately loses? What if they win very fast? Test both!
📐
Sprite SizesCheck sprites don't overlap or look too big/small. Set sizes deliberately (not just default 100%)
📝
Instructions VisibleCan a stranger pick up your game and know what to do in 5 seconds? Add on-screen instructions!
🔄
Restart ButtonAfter game over, the player should be able to restart without refreshing. Add a Restart button!
Section 2
How to Publish on Scratch
1
Click "Share" button
In the Scratch editor, find the orange "Share" button at the top. Click it to make your project public!
2
Write a good title
Use a catchy name: "Dragon Quest Adventure" not "my game 3". This helps people find it!
3
Add Instructions
Fill in the Instructions box: "Use arrow keys to move. Space to jump. Collect all coins to win!"
4
Add Notes & Credits
Write "Made by [Your Name] using Scratch." Credit any music or graphics you didn't make yourself.
5
Add to your Studio
Create a Scratch Studio called "[Your Name]'s Portfolio" and add all your projects to it!
6
Share the link!
Copy your project URL (scratch.mit.edu/projects/XXXX) and share it with friends and family!
💡
Get your project featured!
The Scratch team features top projects on the front page. Projects with great thumbnails, clear instructions, and creative ideas get the most plays! A strong project description also helps people discover your work through search.
